The bay battery holder secures a 9 volt battery on a traditional electronics bay sled and allows for the battery leads to be positioned in any of the four corners of the holder. The holder can be mounted in a few different ways. The kit supplies hardware to hold the retainer on, but does not include any hardware for mounting the holder on your sled.
- The standard mounting is 4-40 hardware in the regular mounting holes.
- You can use longer 4-40 machine screws and use the four retainer threaded inserts to mount the holder from underneath your sled with the screws long enough to be able to put the retainer on top. You would use 4-40 nuts and washers to hold the retainer on. In this case, you would not use the regular mounting holes.
- You can do the longer screws as in option 2, but add 4-40 hardware in the regular mounting holes to maximize strength.
