The Hybrid Bay Battery carriers are used to hold smaller batteries (9 V sized and select LiPos) in SMT Designs hybrid bays or bay adapters.

A battery carrier typically mounts on the bottom side of a hybrid tray and the top side of a bay adapter. The only exception to this is the BT60 9V battery carrier which mounts on both sides due to the battery height.

All hybrid bay battery carriers require 8mm open space beneath the actual carrier for inserts or space for the specific battery supported.

An optional bay adapter can be ordered along with any carrier for use in a traditional electronics bay to increase the modularity of custom designs.

There are two different versions available. The older SMT Designs carriers have a middle tab on one end and an offset tab on the other - this is the "original version". A new footprint was introduced in December 2019 where the tabs are offset on both ends - this is the production version being shipped. the battery carriers are not flush mountable to a flat surface. They require installation in a hybrid bay tray or bay adapter for clearance.
